Give a Homeless Family a “Kitchen in a Bag”

The Fineshriber Family Foundation in partnership with the Culver City Unified School District and the Venice Family Clinic is proud to sponsor “Kitchen in a Bag”, a unique way to provide families without a kitchen the ability to cook a healthy, hearty meal on a budget.

Approximately 100 CCUSD students have been identified as living in motels, shelters, or “doubled-up” (i.e. usually in an apartment with one bedroom or area per family or in a garage). These families have little or no access to a kitchen and are forced to rely on fast food restaurants for many of their meals.

“Kitchen In A Bag” was designed to give such families everything they need to prepare healthy meals. Participating parents will receive a new Crock Pot after attending a free Nutrition Class at the Venice Family Clinic’s Lou Colen’s Children’s Health and Wellness Center.

Just $28 will provide a family with basic kitchen tools; $32 will give them a new crockpot, and $60 will provide a homeless family with a complete “Kitchen in a Bag.” You can help by making a donation through CCEF, just use this link to our donation page and specify “Kitchen in a Bag” in the Additional Comments field at the bottom of the page.
