CCEF is thrilled to announce a grant award from Apple that will bring incredible new creative learning opportunities to students across the district. With support from Apple, Culver City Middle School and Culver City High School will be able to enrich their music and film programs by providing new technology and resources for our students and educators.

The number of students participating in middle and high school arts programs has grown tremendously in the past few years, with Culver City High School recently designated as a California Exemplary Arts Education program. With this donation from Apple, students in the Music Technology classes will now work with upgraded equipment. This Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway program prepares high school students for potential careers in music production.

The film program is receiving a classroom set of Macbooks which will allow students to learn film editing skills. With this incredible gift, ALL film students will now have access to professional equipment and will be taught basic editing skills, regardless of prior experience or access to computers at home. “This is a huge step towards equity amongst our students and working to improve workforce diversity in the film industry,” shared Alexis Reyes, CCHS Film Teacher.

Culver City is a creative hub in Los Angeles, home to film studios and technology leaders. CCEF and CCUSD seek to build a creative hub for students, as well. Funding from Apple’s donation will help kick off a multiphase renovation project with a goal of transforming underutilized space into a true creative campus for the music and film programs to flourish.

CCEF’s Corporate Champions program invites community leaders like Apple to provide the private funding that is needed to increase the access and equity to meet the needs of our students. “We are grateful to our neighbors at Apple for strengthening our community-wide effort to ensure outstanding learning opportunities at every CCUSD school,” said Wendy Hamill, Executive Director, CCEF. “We look forward to continuing to build upon this partnership.”
