Thank you, Dr. Janet Cameron Hoult!

Janet Hoult

Dr. Janet Cameron Hoult, professor emerita at CSULA, is a well known author and a unique treasure in Culver City. As the city’s first Honorary Artist Laureate for Poetry (2015-19), she writes and publishes her poetry, regularly presenting at meetings and events throughout town. Dr. Hoult has lived and worked in Culver City since the 1970’s, and generously donates proceeds from her book sales to local organizations – including CCEF. In addition to receiving proceeds from her books Jaunts with Janet and Juggling with Janet, we gratefully acknowledge her as one of CCEF’s Monthly Sustaining Donors, Furthermore, Dr. Hoult believes so strongly in CCEF’s mission that she has included a generous bequest to CCEF in her estate plans.

When asked how she chose the Culver City Education Foundation as one of her beneficiaries, she naturally shared her answer in the form of a poem…

“After much reflection
It’s clear that education
Has been the foundation
Of my life

So with deliberation
I provide donations
To organizations
That ease student strife

To support quality education –
Among the best in our nation –
I’m proud and honored to give a donation
To Culver City’s Education Foundation”

Dr. Hoult hopes this poem leaves you inspired to look within and consider how you can help our students with a meaningful gift from your heart. Thank you, Dr. Hoult for letting your positivity and compassion shine, and making a difference in our community and our schools!
