Culver City High School students recently enjoyed special guests from Amazon in their computer programming and film classes.

Several professionals working with Amazon volunteered their time to speak virtually with students and share their technical skills and career experiences as part of Amazon’s “Week of Service” for their LA-based employees.

Film students engaged with guest speakers to discuss “How to Make a Movie” and learn real world examples of the creative development process. Computer programming classes were able to participate in hands on coding sessions with the professional engineers from Amazon.

A similar enriching opportunity happened last spring at Culver City Middle School when volunteers from Amazon’s legal department visited 8th grade social studies classes to present an interactive workshop on the history of civil disobedience.

CCEF is grateful for Amazon’s ongoing support including as a platinum sponsor of our recent virtual SIP event. We continue to work closely with Amazon to coordinate future opportunities for classroom sessions engaging Culver City students.
