It is with great pride and respect that we share the exciting news that the Friends of the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center (SSYHC) has combined their organization with CCEF in order to strengthen our shared efforts to bring essential health resources into our schools. By merging our two non-profit organizations together, we aim to sustain the Health Center’s vital healthcare services available for CCUSD students.
Many of the incredibly dedicated members of the Friends organization have volunteered in support of the Health Center for over 25 years. Diana Hauptman, President of the Friends of SSYHC, shared, “Our board is overjoyed that CCEF, which serves all CCUSD students, is bringing the (Friends of) Sandy Segal Youth Health Center under their umbrella. After working for more than 30 years to help Culver City students get access to high quality and affordable mental and physical healthcare, we wanted to ensure that our work continues. We are excited about the expanded fundraising support and community recognition that our combined organizations will bring to the Health Center.”
The SSYHC will continue to be managed by the Venice Family Clinic, whose healthcare professionals serve Culver City students’ health and wellness needs – offering low and no-cost services to middle school and high school students. Named in honor of long-time dedicated CCUSD nurse Sandy Segal, the Center is located on the school campus between the middle school and high school, in the same building as the nursing office.

Academic achievement is impacted by outside factors that need to be addressed to allow every student to reach their highest potential. Thousands of Culver City youth have received quality physical and mental health care at the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center for over 35 years. CCEF is proud to merge with the Friends of the SSYHC and to carry on their meaningful mission to raise funds to help Culver City students to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.
